Saturday Morning, Bradistan

In the early hours of every Saturday morning I make my way to my local mosque to join my brothers in the fajr prayer. It has now become a regular highlight of my week and I always look forward to seeing the regular attendees and then enjoy a delicious communal breakfast after. I love the stillness of the early morning and seeing the first rays of daylight through the windows. Often we can hear the birds outside joining in with our supplications.

For a change I took my camera there and took these shots of some the sights that can be seen inside. I'm planning to do this more often and build up a little portfolio to document the life and activites here.

  1. You captured the mood exactly. Due to time constraints and the rat race I haven't been fortunate enough to go for regular prayers at the mosque, I mostly have to pray at home but your post takes me back to a short period abroad when I would regularly wake up early before dawn, walk in the stillness of the morning to join in prayers, perfect way to start a day!! :)
