TV Smith (Part Two)

I was very honoured to photograph TV Smith for my Middle Aged Punks project when he played in Leeds last month. Formerly with The Adverts, TV was one of the best songwriters from that era but certainly has not received the recognition that he truly deserves. He still plays hundreds of gigs every year and releases solo albums, of which his latest "Coming In To Land" ranks up there with the best of his canon.

TV was a very willing participant in my project and agreed to actually to be photographed the day after the gig so I could take the shots in the natural light. However, the heavens opened and rain started to fall heavily not long before we were due to meet. Luckily I discovered a little covered area around the corner where we were able to do the shoot.

As with all the portraits in this series I am wanting to capture something deeper of the subject than just a typical pose. I am very pleased how the pictures turned out, especially this one.
